Risk of Twisting with the Low Back, Pancreatic Cancer Awareness, Rotary Stability
Risk of Twisting with the Low Back
Twisting with your back, especially with a load, can increase your risk of injury. Before you begin work, it is important to take a few minutes to warm your body up. Secondly, it's important to bend with your knees not your back when performing physical activities like lifting or digging. Lastly, pivot your feet or reposition your posture to keep your body in the best working position as possible.
Pancreatic Cancer Awareness
Knowing the signs and symptoms can save your life.
Symptoms:
Abdomen or low back pain
unexplained weight loss
jaundice
loss of appetite
change in stool
new onset of diabetes
Talk to your health care provider if you are experiencing any of these symptoms and you can learn more at https://pancan.org/facing-pancreatic-cancer/change-the-course/
Rotary Stability
The last movement on the Functional Movement Screen (FMS™) assesses trunk stability when the upper and lower body are moving. Many athletes, especially sprinters need a strong core when pushing off the blocks. Poor rotary stability can lead to decrease in athletic performance and an increase risk of injury.
