Neutral Hand & Wrist Position, HIIT Workouts, Cold and Flu Season

Neutral Hand & Wrist Position

Maintaining a neutral hand and wrist position helps reduce strain in the hand, wrist, and forearm. Prolonged or repetitive wrist bending places unnecessary stress on the muscles and nerves,  which can lead to chronic discomfort or overuse conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome. Whether you are in the office or in the field, be mindful of your wrist position, take micro-pauses and stretch breaks when needed, and report discomfort early to your CIPS athletic trainer.

HIIT Workouts

HIIT, or High-Intensity Interval Training, is defined by short bouts of exercise at maximum energy output, followed by periods of low-intensity work or rest. The main benefits of HIIT workouts include building endurance, supporting muscle development, and improving cardiac health. HIIT suits people at all fitness levels, even beginners, and it saves time, too!

Cold and Flu Season

As we start to transition from the warm summer temperatures to the cool fall weather, we are officially entering Cold and Flu season. You can protect yourself from sickness this year simply by washing your hands frequently, drinking plenty of fluids, and getting enough sleep at night. Stop the spread of germs this year and keep yourself and coworkers healthy!
