DOMINANT EYE TEST,“BRETZEL” STRETCH, AUTUMN PRODUCE
DOMINANT EYE TEST
The dominant eye test can tell you which eye your brain prioritizes and relies on when quickly searching for visual information. Eye dominance can impact posture control, coordination, and balance as you work. To determine your dominant eye: choose an object far away from you, extend your arms out in front of you, and make a circle with your hands around the object. Close each eye one at a time, and note which eye stays open while the object remains in view. That is your dominant eye.
“BRETZEL” STRETCH
The “bretzel” is an excellent movement to increase hip and thoracic spine mobility. Lie on your side and bend the top-leg knee to about 90 degrees. Then, bend the bottom knee and use the bottom hand to grab the bottom leg's ankle, pulling the knee into flexion and the hip into extension while rotating toward the bottom leg. Hold the position and take a few deep breaths. Return to the starting position and repeat on the opposite side.
AUTUMN PRODUCE
As the days shorten and the temperatures drop, it is the perfect time to enjoy some in-season produce. Beets provide natural nitrates that convert to nitric oxide in the body, which can support blood flow and help lower blood pressure. The whole plant is edible, from the leaves to the beet root, making it a versatile ingredient. Pumpkins, squash, and sweet potatoes provide beta-carotene, which converts to vitamin A. They are also high in fiber, creating a filling base for both sweet and savory dishes.
