Battle Those Winter Blues, National Eye Care Month, New Year-New Step Goal!

Battle Those Winter Blues

We sometimes feel like we have to endure winter, but let’s embrace it!  The seasonal shift can often deplete our psychological reserves, leading to negative feelings.  Reversing that trend with positive emotions is beneficial.  Concentrate on battling the winter blues by spending time with friends, taking an outdoor walk, breathing in that fresh, outdoor air, enjoying the sights, smells, and sounds of the winter season, and maybe even meditating and practicing your breathing.

National Eye Care Month

January is National Eye Care Month, a time to encourage individuals to care for their eyes.  Our eyes are vital to us in many ways, especially for the daily work that we do.  They are sensitive to exposure and can be damaged if not correctly cared for.  So, not only make sure you are wearing the proper PPE, but be aware of your eye health and have a yearly exam with your medical professional.

New Year-New Step Goal!

With the start of the new year, new health and fitness goals are always made. For years, we have been told that 10,000 steps a day is the ideal goal to obtain overall health benefits.  However, a recent study found that walking just 7,000 steps a day can boost brain power and protect against a range of diseases.  So let’s get outside and take those first steps towards a healthier 2026!
