GET A GRIP, HAMMER CURL, ARTIFICIALLY SWEET?

GET A GRIP

Grip strength is your ability to generate and maintain force through the hand and forearm to grasp, hold, pull, or control objects. Grip strength helps you handle tools, equipment, and materials while maintaining control. Research has linked grip strength with occupational performance, including equipment handling and rescue activities. To build grip strength, squeeze a stress ball or do controlled wrist curls with light resistance, gradually increasing it over time.

HAMMER CURL

Hammer curls strengthen the muscles responsible for elbow flexion and forearm strength. Changing your grip position with the hammer curl over the traditional bicep curl alters which muscles are being activated. Start by holding dumbbells at your sides with palms facing inward. Keeping your elbows close, curl the weights toward your shoulders without rotating your wrists. Slowly lower and repeat.

ARTIFICIALLY SWEET?

Artificial sweeteners, including aspartame, sucralose, and saccharin, provide sweetness with little or no added sugar or calories. They can help you reduce your sugar intake, but moderation still matters. Research has raised questions about the potential effects of frequent, long-term consumption, so it’s best not to rely on them throughout the day. When possible, reach for water, unsweetened tea, or naturally sweet foods like fruit instead.
