HEAR ME OUT

Hearing Protection Devices (HPD) are pivotal in preventing hearing loss.  Unfortunately, it has been documented that only around 25% of utility/construction workers wear the appropriate HPD while working in 85 dBA, the limit before hearing loss risk increases drastically.  In order to lower this statistic and prevent hearing injuries, it is vital to be a role model in wearing HPD, educate fellow colleagues, and the use of a noise level indicators.


SPICE UP YOUR LIFE

Turmeric is a commonly used spice found all over the globe.  The active compound of turmeric, curcumin, has widely been studied for its anti-inflammatory properties.  Additionally, curcumin also has been proven to be a powerful antioxidant.  Commonly found in indian cuisines such as curries, turmeric is also very simple to incorporate into your diet.  It can be easily and tastefully added to coffee, tea, soup, stews, rice, lentils, etc.


HIP  STRETCH

The 90/90 hip stretch is an great way to improve hip mobility.

  1. From a seated position, place your hands flat on the floor behind you, bend your knees and hips up to 90 degrees while keeping your feet flat on the ground. 

  2. With feet planted on the floor, rotate your knees down to the ground right and then left.

  3. Perform this stretch 3 sets for 6 repetitions on each side.
