Prolonged Sitting

Prolonged sitting is linked to various health risks, including obesity, heart disease, Type 2 Diabetes, and musculoskeletal issues like back pain. It can also lead to poor circulation, increasing the risk of blood clots. To prevent these risks, try standing or walking for at least 5 minutes every hour, set reminders to move periodically throughout the day, and incorporate regular stretching or movement exercises to improve posture, reduce stiffness, and boost overall circulation.

Monster Walks

Monster Walks are great for strengthening the gluteal muscles and hips, improving stability, and reducing the risk of injury, especially in the knees and lower back.

1. Place a resistance band around your ankles.

2. Stand with feet hip-width apart so you feel the resistance of the bands, knees slightly bent.

3. Step five steps forward and five steps backward, all while maintaining tension in the band. Perform 3-5 sets.

Distracted Driving Awareness

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, which highlights the dangers of driving while texting, eating, or using in-car technologies. Distracted driving is a leading cause of accidents, injuries, and fatalities on the road. Simple actions like putting phones away and using hands-free devices, setting up navigation and music before driving away, and asking passengers to assist with tasks can significantly promote safer driving habits.
